Cold Plunge Maintenance

Cold water isn't clean water. We keep your plunge both.

Cold plunges look pristine right up until they aren't. Biofilm and neglected filtration don't care about temperature. We put your plunge on a weekly sanitation and testing routine that protects your health and your chiller.

The dirty secret of cold plunges

Cold water slows bacteria. It doesn't stop it. Skin oils, sweat, and organic load build up in plunge water just like in a hot tub, but because the water looks clear and feels clean, most owners drastically under-sanitize. Meanwhile the filter quietly clogs and the chiller works harder than it should.

Thousands of plunges were sold in the last few years. Almost nobody services them. We do: it's one of our three specialties.

What weekly plunge service covers

  • Water testing and sanitation appropriate to your setup (chemical, ozone, or UV-assisted)
  • Filter cleaning, so flow stays high and the chiller stays happy
  • Top-offs and clarity checks
  • Quarterly: full drain, deep clean of the vessel and lines, filter change, and chiller maintenance

Running a plunge through a Colorado winter

Outdoor plunges in Denver face freeze risk, wild temperature swings, and debris. We'll set your plunge up to run year-round safely, or winterize it properly if you'd rather pause until spring.

Gyms and studios: this is a compliance issue

A shared plunge with daily traffic is commercial water. It needs documented testing and a sanitation log. See our commercial service for agreements built for recovery studios, climbing gyms, and training facilities.

Never think about water chemistry again
